Quests, Campaign & PvP

Campaign can be accessed by tapping on the icon in the bottom right of the screen whilst you're in your base. This is a good place to start to give you a feel for how the battle system works.

The Campaign is made up of 8 stages with each stage consisting of 5 missions. Each mission has 3 battles that need to be won to obtain full progress, however you only need to win 1 battle to unlock the next mission.

Some Quests will require you to win 1 battle or obtain full progress in these missions, because of this it's probably best to leave the Campaign until it's a Quest requirement once you have a feel for the battle system.

Apart from obtaining Gold & XP from the missions you don't really gain anything from completing the Campaign apart from a stat that will say 100% completion. However you will need to obtain full progress in the final mission as part of a Quest.

Quests

Quests are the best way to get to grips with the game and to help you progress.

To progress through the game you need to obtain XP to level up, Quests are the best and more often than not the quickest way to gain this. When you're first starting out Quests will come thick & fast allowing you to progress through the earlier levels rather quickly which will allow you to unlock better Units & Boons to fight with. As well as XP completing Quests will also reward you with Gold & Gems. Your current Quests are listed in the top left of the screen whilst at your base, tapping here will show a drop down list of them all. You can have several Quests running at once, tapping them will provide you with more information about the Quest and how to complete it.

To complete Quests you need to fulfil the requirements that are listed as part of that particular Quest. There can either be a single requirement, a single requirement multiple times or several different requirements. These come in many different forms from building certain things, attacking players in certain ways or improving your stats.

Building Quests can be building certain types of Units or specific Units, fusing Units together to a certain level, building specific Boons, building specific or a number of Buildings and even expanding your base. Attacking players in certain ways can be doing battles on a specific terrain, using specific or multiple Boons in battle and invading your opponent after victory. Improving your stats is normally just obtaining a certain amount of Glory.

There are many different Quests to be done throughout your progression with some Quests requiring you to fight in parts of the Campaign.

PvP

PvP is were you battle against other players in the game. Doing these battles give you the opportunity to gain Glory, collect more Gold from bounties and collect even more Gold as well as Social Points from invasions.

To do PvP battles you need to visit the World Map which is accessed by tapping on 'Fight' in the bottom right of the screen whilst you're at your base. Once here there will be several pages of different opponents for you to attack.
Before you attack another player you can view the strength of both your attacking & defensive line ups by tapping on 'Army' (area highlighted in green). This will list your Units' strength of your best possible line up, your Fortifications boost & your Alliance bonus.

Tap on 'My Alliance' (area highlighted in red) to view your allies in a similar format to that of the World Map. On this page you're able to do friendly battles against your allies which give you the opportunity to collect Social Points by defeating them. These friendly attacks will have no impact on your allies, they won't lose any Gold, Social Points or Glory if you defeat them. This page also gives you the option to collect Social Points by putting out fires in allies' bases automatically rather than visiting each base. However it will only collect from 20% of the allies in the Alliance for free, if you wish to collect from more allies you will need to spend Gems. This is still limited to once every 24h as if you were to do it manually.

Tapping the arrows (areas highlighted in yellow) allows you to view other pages of the World Map where there are more players for you to attack.
For every player on the World Map you will always see the following information.

Their Level (area highlighted in red)

Their Name (area highlighted in green)

Their Glory (area highlighted in yellow)

Their Alliance (area highlighted in purple) if this is blank that particular player isn't part of an Alliance.
Occassionally there will be other things visible on the players shown in the World Map.

The area highlighted in green shows that this particular player has a bounty set upon them. By attacking this player and winning you can claim this bounty along with whatever bounty bonus you currently have.

The areas highlighted in red show that these players are currently under protection. When a player is under protection you're unable able to attack them and neither will anybody else until this protection expires.
When you select a player from the World Map you'll be given several options and information about Glory (area highlighted in green) so from the top down:

Attack - Proceed to next step of battle with that player.

Glory Information - The left number is what you'll receive upon victory and the right number is what you'll lose if you're defeated. (The most Glory you can obtain from a single battle is +8 should you win, with -16 being the biggest loss should you lose. If a player's Glory is too low you won't receive any Glory for defeating them. If a player has a significantly higher amount of Glory than you, you can battle them without the risk of losing any Glory should you lose to them but you will still only be able to gain the maximum of +8.)

Set Bounty - Place a bounty on this player. (This will remove them from the page so you can't collect your own bounty.)

Invite/Recommend - If you're a General or Lieutenant in your Alliance you will be able to invite this player to your Alliance. If you're not you will be able to recommend the player so a General or Lieutenant from your Alliance can invite them.

Player Profile - Allows you to view the player's profile to see more information about them.

Declare War - If you're a General or Lieutenant in your Alliance you have the option to attempt at declaring war against this player's Alliance.
Once you've selected to attack a particular player you will given the option to pick a terrain to do battle on, either Air (area highlighted in green) or Land (area highlighted in red).

You will also see the difficulty level of your opponent for each terrain. There are 5 rankings for this; Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard & Very Hard. This ranking is generated solely by your best attacking Units against their best defensive Units; Fortification boosts & Alliance bonus aren't taken into consideration. The higher this ranking the more resources you're able to gain from your opponent depending on the classing of your victory over them.

There are 4 classes of victory you can obtain when defeating an opponent.

Dominating - Having 76%-100% of your original line up strength left

Excellent - Having 51-75% of your original line up strength left

Good Battle - Having 26-50% of your original line up strength left

Close Call - Having 25% or less of your original line up strength left

So if you were to obtain a Dominating victory over a Very Hard ranked opponent you will be able to obtain the maximum amount of resources for the victory and invasion (if you choose to) that you have available to your ranking.
Aside from gaining Gold & XP from defeating players in PvP some opponents will also give you Glory. This is important to obtain as having a higher Glory ranking allows you to gain even more Gold when defeating a player that has a bounty set on them.

Glory ranking is divided into 5 main leagues each made up of 5 smaller sub-leagues. Progressing through all of these leagues will allow you to reach a final 6th league and obtain the maximum bounty & contribution bonuses. The 6 main leagues are:

Soldiers' League
Veterans' League
Champions' League
Heroes' League
Masters' League
Demigods' League

Once you reach the Demigods' League there are no sub-leagues like the others and there are no higher leagues that you can progress into.

As you progress through the leagues you'll obtain an ever increasing bounty & contribution bonus. The bounty bonus works as a set amount of Gold added to a bounty (no mattter how big or small) every time you defeat a player that has one set on them. The contribution bonus works as giving you a set % added to the amount of contribution points that you would of received normally. Reaching the Demigods' league will give you a bounty bonus of 750,000 Gold per bounty and a contribution bonus of 120% making it extremely worthwhile. The sooner you can reach the Demigods' league the easier the game will become where high amounts of Gold can be achieved in few battles.
