Alliances

Once you reach Level 10 you have the option to join or create an Alliance. If you are new to the game, joining an established Alliance is recommended rather than trying to start your own and there are plenty of them out there to choose from.

Being in an Alliance comes with many benefits; you're able to gain more Social Points, free Helping Hands to use in battles, boosts that increase as your Alliance progresses & the opportunity to gain bonus points in certain Events.

Each Alliance will have a leadership structure that consists of 3 positions; General, Lieutenant & Soldier.
There can only be 2 Generals in an Alliance, they're the players that have 3 stars beneath their name. They have the ability to declare/accept/decline wars, invite other players to join, accept/reject players that have applied to join, promote/demote other players within the Alliance and kick players from the Alliance.
Lieutenants are unlimited in their number but have to be promoted to this position, they're the players that have 2 stars beneath their name. They have the ability to declare/accept/decline wars, invite other players to join, accept/reject players that have applied to join and promote other players to Lieutenant.
Soldiers are the players that have 1 star beneath their name. They can only recommend players for a General or Lieutenant to invite to the Alliance. When a player joins an Alliance they will be a Soldier and remain as this until they are promoted.

There is a maximum of 50 players to each Alliance but once an Alliance has 10 or more players that Alliance is able to wage wars with other Alliances within the game.

Basics

Alliance Wars

With at least 10 players part of your Alliance the Generals & Lieutenants have the opportunity to start wars with other Alliances within the game. Alliance wars give your Alliance the opportunity to compete for Alliance Glory; obtaining more Alliance Glory will mean you progress through the Alliance leagues. Reaching higher leagues gives every member of the Alliance added bonuses. Alliance wars also give players the opportunity to obtain bonus points in certain Events.

Firstly a war needs to begin, this can be done in the 'War' page when viewing your Alliance. Either a war needs to be declared against another Alliance or a declaration of war from another Alliance needs to be accepted. There is also the option to decline a war that has been declared by another Alliance. When a war is declared the Alliance in question has 12 hours to respond to the declaration, if they fail to do so within that time the war will begin automatically. Once a war has begun it will last for 24 hours from the time of acceptance.

There are 2 phases to Alliance wars. The 1st phase is the individual battles where players from each Alliance do PvP battles against players from the other Alliance. The 2nd phase is Allied Assault which is an automated battle between the Units that have been donated by each Alliance.

1st Phase

When a war begins each player will begin with 5 battles to fight against the other Alliance's players, unless they're one of the players that are included as part of the 'Elite Fighters' upgrade, then they will start with 6 battles. These battles will replenish after a set amount of time, typically 1 battle every 2 hours but with the 'Constant War' upgrade this time can be reduced. For every battle that's won by player points will be added to that player's Alliance score. This score is shown in the form of a blue/red bar on the 'War' page. Your Alliance's score is shown in blue and the opposing Alliance's score is shown in red. Players will have as many battles as the 24 hour time limit will allow to obtain points towards their Alliance's score.

If one Alliance has over 70% of the bar come the end of the 24 hour period no matter the outcome of the 2nd phase they will always win the Alliance war. If this proves not to be the case the result of the 2nd phase can make a huge difference, with an Alliance losing the 1st phase achieving victory in the Alliance war and vice versa. However you can lose the 1st phase within the 70% margin, win the 2nd phase and still lose the Alliance war if the margin you won the 2nd phase by isn't greater than the margin you lost the 1st phase by. So as an example if your Alliance was to lose the 1st phase by 10% but only win the 2nd phase by 5% you would still lose the Alliance war where the 2nd phase win wasn't great enough.

2nd Phase

At the end of the 24 hour time limit the 2nd phase known as Allied Assault will be calculated. This is an automated battle between the Units that have been donated by the players from each Alliance. This is shown in the form of a replay after the Alliance war result has been declared and the replay is only a representation of the actual calculations. This replay will only ever consist of the top 24 Units donated by each Alliance (48 in total) due to the limited ability of the game. So even though a player's donations may not have appeared in the replay they have still played some part in the Allied Assault.

Players have from as soon as the war begins and have until the closing moments to make their donations to the Allied Assault. All players are able to donate 2 Units to the Allied Assault, however with the 'Maecenas' upgrade some players may have the ability to donate a 3rd Unit. By having as many players as possible donating their best Units available will give your Alliance a better chance at winning the Allied Assault.

There are many factors that will determine the outcome of an Allied Assault and by taking them all into consideration will give your Alliance the best possible chance of winning. The biggest factor seems to be army power, making this as high as possible can in most cases lead to victory. Army power is generated by adding together both the attack & defence points of each Unit. So when it comes to donating, donating Units with a high amount of combined points will prove more favorable to your Alliance. Boons are another big factor in determining the outcome of an Allied Assault even though they aren't used in the calculation to generate army power. This is due to the fact that a Unit fused with Boons may not survive long enough for that particular Boon to be activated. However if that particular Boon is activated it can have a great affect on the battle so a Unit fused with Boons is likely to be stronger than the same Unit without Boons. The type of Unit (Agile, Tough, Magic & Premium) also plays a factor, with bonuses being given to Units when they face a certain type of Unit. However with the line up being automatically selected it's impossible to face one type specifically against another.

Win

If your Alliance wins against an Alliance that is ranked lower (less Glory) your Alliance will receive less Glory. If your Alliance wins against an Alliance that is ranked higher (more Glory) your Alliance will receive more Glory, with a maximum of 200. This maximum can be exceeded should you do the 'Leadership' upgrade.

Lose

If your Alliance loses to an Alliance that is ranked higher (more Glory) your Alliance will lose less Glory. If your Alliance loses to an Alliance that is ranked lower (less Glory) your Alliance will lose more Glory, with a maximum of 200.

Alliance Agora

When you're part of an Alliance and Level 16 or higher you'll obtain the Alliance Agora. This has many uses that will benefit both you & your Alliance. The Alliance Agora consists of 4 main pages; Alliance Agora, Upgrades, Gifts & Sentinels.

Alliance Agora

This page allows you to increase the amounts of Gold or Social Points you can donate to Alliance upgrades. At first these increases will cost Gold, then Social Points and finally Gems. You will need to be at least Level IV to be able to donate to Tier II upgrades and at least Level VI to donate to Tier III upgrades.

Upgrades

This page is split into 3 sections; Sentinel, Alliance & Player with each section having 5 different upgrades to obtain. Each upgrade will have a number of levels to reach 100% completion, the amount of levels varies for each upgrade. Some levels will require you to donate Gold and others will require Social Points. You can donate to an upgrade once every 6 hours, however you can make a double donation but this will be at the cost of Gems. The upgrades in each section work on a tier system with the first level of a Tier I upgrade needing to be completed before your Alliance can start donating to a Tier II upgrade, there are 3 tiers in all for each section. By working with other Alliance members you can obtain these upgrades that will benefit all who are part of the Alliance.

Also the more Gem Packs that Alliance members purchase will increase the level of Gifts and they will improve at each level that's achieved.

Sentinel

This page is split into 2 sections; Sentinel & Requests.

Sentinel

This will show the Boons currently available to your Sentinel if you're attacked. You will originally start with a single Boon slot but have the option to purchase another 4 slots at the cost of Gems giving you 5 Boon slots in total. If your slots are empty you won't have a Sentinel as part of your defensive line up when you're attacked by another player. To receive Sentinel Boons you need to make a request for them. If a slot is empty and the request timer is completed you can request more. Typically the timer is 4 hours from when you made your last request, this time can be reduced with the 'Favor of the Sentinel' upgrade. When you've made a request other Alliance members can donate Boons to your Sentinel, they can donate as many Boons as you have Slots. When they've donated Boons to your Sentinel you can view the Boons that have been received on this page. When your Alliance completes the first level of the 'Social Boons' upgrade you have the option to convert Sentinel Boons into Social Points. Converting Sentinel Boons will remove that Boon from it's slot and you will receive an amount of Social Points depending on whether the Boon is Bronze, Silver or Gold and what level of 'Social Boons' your Alliance has obtained.

Requests

When you or another Alliance member makes a request for Sentinel Boons they'll be shown on this page. You're only able to donate Boons to other Alliance members' requests and not your own. You will gain Social Points for each Boon that you donate to another Alliance member. The amount you will receive will depend on whether the Boon is Bronze, Silver or Gold and these amounts can be increased by doing the 'Social Favor' upgrade.
