Fusions
There are 2 types of fusions within the game; Unit fusion & Boon fusion.
Unit Fusion
This is where you can fuse 2 of the same Unit together to create a stronger version of that particular Unit. You won't be able to start doing this until you reach Level 8.
Each Unit has to be fused subject to it's terrain, so land Units are fused at Grounds of Ares and air Units are fused at Grounds of Aether. Using the Elite versions of these buildings not only reduce the build cost of Units but also the cost to fuse Units together. You can also decrease the cost even further by doing the 'Easy Fusion' Academy upgrade.
Once you've selected the particular Grounds for the Units you want to fuse there will be a 'Fusion' icon on the left of the screen, tapping this will take you to the Fusion menu. Here all of the Units you have that can be fused will be listed in the lower part of the screen. By tapping a Unit you'll then be prompted to fuse 2 of that particular Unit provided that you have 2 of them. If you only have 1 you'll be given the option to purchase a 2nd Unit at the cost of Gems, this is extremely expensive & you'd be better off just building it yourself.
By having 2 of the same Level I Unit you can fuse them together to create a single Level II version of that particular Unit. By doing this again you'll end up with 2 Level II Units. With these 2 Level II Units you can fuse them together to create a single Level III Unit. This can be done until you've created a Level IV Unit, which will require 8 Level I Units to create. The costs of fusing upto Level III are quite moderate with the cost to create a Level IV having a sharp rise compared to the earlier levels. Level IV Units are a lot stronger than the lower level versions of Units and also have more HP to last more battles so they're definately worth it. It's not possible to fuse Units together to create Level V Units, they can only be obtained as an Event reward or Lottery prize.
With the 'Fusion Master' Academy Upgrade it's possible for you to fuse 2 Level I Boss Units together to create a Level II Boss Unit. To do this will require Gems and depending on the total power of that particular Unit it may cost a large amount of Gems to do. Even with this large cost in most cases it's worthwhile as all Level II Boss Units have twice the amount of attack & defence points of their Level I versions. This can make them an extremely useful part of any line up.
Also everytime that you fuse Units together the HP of that Unit will be restored to maximum. So if you had 2 Level III Units both with low HP and fused them together to create a Level IV Unit that Unit would have the maximum amount of HP for that particular Unit. This can be a great way of getting your money's worth from the Units that you've built rather than just having them die everytime their HP gets low.
Boon Fusion
This is where you can attach Boons to a Unit. You won't be able to start doing this until you've built a Fusion Grounds which is unlocked at Level 35.
Fusing Boons to Units gives you the potential to use that Boon in battle without it affecting the number of Boons in your stash. For the Boon to be used it will need to be charged before the Unit dies in battle or the battle ends. The Boon can be used once in each battle but can be used several times throughout that Unit's life.
By selecting the Fusion Grounds you are then able to choose a Unit to fuse Boons to. It's not possible to fuse Level V or Level II Boss Units with Boons, also any other Units that have already been fused with Boons.
At first the screen will look like this when you enter the Fusion Grounds.

By selecting a Unit the list of Units will change to the list of Boons that you have available to fuse to the Unit.
Only certain Boons can be fused to Units, they are; Boon of Aphrodite, Catapult Strike, Blinding Light, Apollo's Arrows, Mist of Hades, Flames of Olympus & Boon of Artemis. You can fuse any level of these Boons to Units whether it be Bronze, Silver or Gold.
By selecting a Boon you'll be shown how much and how long it will take to complete that particular fusion.
If a Unit costs Gold to build it will cost Gold to fuse a Boon to it. If a Unit costs Social Points to build it will cost Social Points to fuse a Boon to it. The exemption to this is when you're fusing Gold Boons, these will always cost Gems to fuse them to a Unit.
When fusing boons to a Level I Boss Unit it will always cost Gems no matter whether you're fusing Bronze, Silver or Gold Boons to it.

By fusing a single Boon to a Unit you'll only obtain 20% of that Boon's original power if you were to use that Boon normally. In this case the single Silver Mist of Hades Boon about to be fused would of only given a strength reduction of 6 instead of 30 as if it was to be used normally.
By tapping on the Boon in the lower section of the screen you can fuse more of the same Boon, each one giving an additional 20% with a maximum of 10 to obtain 200% of the Boon's original power. This can make the Unit particularly deadly in battle, whether it be in PvP or Allied Assault. In this case the 10 Silver Mist of Hades Boons about to be fused would give a strength reduction of 60 instead of the 30 as if it was to be used normally.
Doing a 200% fusion will increase the cost and the time taken to complete the fusion. The cost between 20% and 200% fusions is hardly noticeable, however the time taken is 10 times longer. Even with this increase in time it's still worth doing this as a Unit with a 200% fusion will give you a greater advantage in battle than that of a Unit with only a 20% fusion.

As with doing Unit fusions to restore maximum HP the same also applies when doing a Boon fusion. This can be particularly useful in prolonging the life of Level IV Units which can't be fused to higher levels. If you were to use a Level IV Unit until it was almost dead before fusing it with Boons you're affectively doubling the life of that Unit.
